A rules lawyer is a participant in a rules-based environment who attempts to use the letter of the law without reference to the spirit, usually in order to gain an advantage within that environment. Often this term is used pejoratively, as the "rules lawyer" is seen as an impediment to moving the game forward. The use of this term is common in wargaming and role playing games. The term may have originated in military service, with sea lawyer (in the Navy) and "barracks lawyer" in the United States Army. Nevertheless, the habit of players to argue in a legal fashion over rule implementation was noted early on in the history of Dungeons and Dragons. Rules lawyers are one of the "player styles" covered in Dungeon Master for Dummies. The rules of the game Munchkin include various parodies of rules lawyer behavior. From Wikipedia under the

Try doing a search for Internet Lawyer. I have also attached a search for you. You may want to contact an attorney to be sure. Answered by Jeff G - Fri Apr 27 20:27:08 2007 Does one really need a lawyer to represent him in selling a house? Q. I plan to sell my house without a lawyer to represent me. What exactly does he do in such a transaction to be worth his fee? Are there any rule or law that require one to have a lawyer, or it is just a tradtion? May be buying a house is a litle different because you are liable to a large sum of money. You collect when you sell. Asked by Felix S - Sat Dec 2 18:10:39 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. No, not the seller. The buyer needs one IF he is buying the house without financing. Most people buy homes with the help of a mortgage company and they will ALWAYS be represented by an attorney. So the buyer gets the benefit of the mortgage company's lawyer, but since the buyer is actually paying those costs anyway that is as it should be. There are a few odd circumstances where a seller might need to consult an attorney, especially if he is taking something in trade or is concerned about disclosure issues such as lead based paint or defects that the seller knows about. Most states require some disclosure and a real estate attorney will know what needs to be done. Most real estate brokerages have all the canned forms that take care… [cont.] Answered by plezurgui - Sat Dec 2 18:33:01 2006 What kind of lawyer do I need to hire to suit a towns police depatment for a botched investigation?
Q. My brother passed and the police instantly ruled it a suicide, then took the weekend off. It now turns out that there is more to the story, but the crime scene was never isolated so there is no useful evidence. On top of that, I have had to provide them with the majority of the information they have. Any contact with them has been a struggle. This is obviously wrong and they are not doing their jobs. I need to find a lawyer but there are so many kinds. Which one do I need? Asked by esmith3498 - Tue Sep 30 18:17:32 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments A. Everything depends: do you want to sue for money? Then get a civil attorney. Do you want to sue for criminal charges? Then get a criminal attorney. More specifically, you'd want to seek one who specializes in municipal law. Answered by Bob - Tue Sep 30 18:23:05 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Rules lawyer" |
