In law, malpractice is a type of negligence in which the misfeasance, malfeasance or nonfeasance of a professional, under a duty to act, fails to follow generally accepted professional standards, and that breach of duty is the proximate cause of injury to a plaintiff who suffers damages. It is committed by a professional or her/his subordinates or agents on behalf of a client or patient that causes damages to the client or patient. I just had major abdominal surgery in August and have not had a post op my appt was canceled with no information I was told that same day that the doctors office was closeing and that the doctor was not seeing anymore patients that I would have to find another doctor they were closeing the doors effective imediatley and I could come get my records with in the next week or so. Stay close by your rumor mill, which will certainly tell you faster than the courts whether your doc is guilty of malpractice.
