I had one credit card (since 1973) that had not charged an annual fee for many years. With all the junk mail I receive from credit card fees, I did not realize they sent me a statement with an annual fee while I had no other charges on the card, until I received the following statement with late fee added. I complained to them and I think they may have removed the late fee and have not charged me an annual fee since.
