A. Hawaii. The Polynesian people are closely related (their languages are very similar - Cook brought a Tahitian to New Zealand as an interpreter) and live in a more-or-less triangular region of the Pacific stretching from New Zealand to Hawaii to Easter Island, but excluding Fiji (part of Melanesia). The Hawaiian word 'aloha' is a cognate of the Maori word 'aroha' (love, affection).
